The World Radiocommunication Seminar 2012 is being held in Geneva, 3-7 December 2012, focused on the regulatory aspects of the use of the radio-frequency spectrum and satellite orbits, in particular, with the application of the provisions of the ITU Radio Regulations. Consideration of the latest technological aspects of radiocommunication, including broadcasting, is also on focus.
More than 450 participants from 99 countries were registered at this event.
The first two days are dedicated to cover aspects of international frequency management and radiocommunication standardization of the terrestrial and space services, including related work of the ITU-R Study Groups. The last three days will enable participants to get hands-on experience with ITU notification procedures as well as with the software and electronic publications made available by the Radiocommunication Bureau to the Administrations of ITU Member States and to the ITU-R Sector Members.
WRS-12 provides an opportunity to gain deeper insight into the revised regulations following the World Radiocommunication Conference 2012 (WRC-12), which concluded in February this year. WRS-12 also aims to provide participants with essential technical and regulatory background information to assist them to prepare for the next ITU World Radiocommunication Conference to be held in Geneva, 2 - 27 November 2015.
